Hi, my name is Nate Dee, and over the past decade, I have dedicated a significant portion of my time to the practice of photography.
To me, a camera is a tool that helps me slow down and narrow my attention—allowing me to study my environment, shift my perspective, and refine what I value. Whether I am chasing friends through the mountains or patiently waiting for the perfect light with a wild subject, my childlike curiosity pulls me from one adventure to the next.
My deepest fascination lies in the hidden threads that connect biological life. I am captivated by everything from simple organic chemistry to the behavior of individual organisms and the complexities of ecosystem interactions. When I am not out exploring with my camera, I help manage a biomedical research lab at the University of Colorado. This professional background has allowed me to investigate biological life at multiple levels, informing my artistic eye with scientific rigor.
Through my photographs, I hope to inspire a deeper appreciation for the abundant beauty and diversity of our planet. I want my work to highlight exactly what we stand to lose if we do not take action to preserve and protect wild spaces and the creatures that call them home.
